... a 100 different reflections!

I have done enough talking for my age, you know, those heart-to-heart talks with friends. At 23, I say I've been to places in life where most of you haven't. Realizations after realizations, and the girl in me has grown up long before she wanted to.

This blog has been like a companion, and you, my lovelies, have been wonderful all the while. I started blogging 2-something years back with Simply Me, most of you also might know as the pink-loves-brown blog. My trademark was everything pink and the lovey dovey sunshiny posts. I met wonderful friends, friends who never knew me personally but in some way knew me better than most people in my real life. That's what I like about this Blogsville; you get to know how people's minds work by what they write. Then I vanished, given to some personal reasons. I went into the depths of my depression till it finally knocked into my silly mind I was hurting no one but myself. I pulled myself together one more time, this time without the help of any friends but myself only. Not that friends weren't there, but because it was time to solely rely on my own instincts and strengths. And so started The Perfect Line, a place that I confess I never liked in the beginning, but grew to love bit by bit each time I summed up my thoughts on this place.

Having a blog gives us simpleton bloggers a glimpse of fame, and we swell with pride on the smallest bit of attention. With Simply Me, I found the dreamy side to myself and I became known as the soft, mushy, sweet girl who knew how to weave romantic fairy tales and ended leaving (female) readers with goose bumps... [well, that's what they used to say!] With The Perfect Line, I found another side to myself; the girl who was trying so hard to come out of everything that seemed to pull her down.

Now, now, just because this is actually my 100th post doesn't mean I shall spare you even today [:D], for it is Friday and I have to do what I do each Friday: lure you into believing your life is perfect, hehe! Kidding! Okay here we go to our 10-points ride to our weekend inspiration-cum-gayaan!

10. If he loves you, he'll come all the way. Trust me all the way! You're too precious to be in a relationship that will get ugly the minute you stop trying. Get out of the "I can't live without him" delimma if that's the case; he's just another face on this planet. It isn't your fault the guy never knew you for your worth. So straighten up your act and pull yourself together. You deserve much, much, much better. Pakka! [link]

9. Friends are the family you choose for yourself and yet I see you whining for not having good friends around you or the kinds that back stab you. Make it a priority on your to-do list to chuck out such people from your life. No one has the right to come between you and your happiness. If you want to grow, if you want to expand your horizons, if you want to be happy and make it big, make sure you're with the people who are right for you![link]

8. You're beautiful! Yes you are! See that smile? It melts me. And I just love your innocent eyes! They say God gives the baby its face in the mother's tummy with His own touch. Tell me, can you be anything but beautiful if you were touched by God Himself? *smiles* Go and listen to 'Beautiful' by Akon. Dance girl... he sings for you!!

7. I read about gifts and choices some time back and had to agree with everything the writer had to say. Bottom line? Gifts are easy, choices are difficult; one day you'll be the person your choices made you. So why don't you make a lovely story for yourself? Be the person you'll be proud of 70 years from now!

6. Good things come to you when you open yourself to all the positivity around you. Everyone has their fair share of difficult times, they are just God's way of reminding us we're humans. Don't let these pit stops pull you down when in fact, they're only planned to make you the gem you are destined to be one day!

5. Take time out for everything. Don't wait for perfect conditions to go out for lunch with your sister or to the football match with your brother he has been nagging you all week about. See life in the moment you live in. There are no "We will go out for a picnic when..." or "I will apply for MS admissions if..." Chances are you'll never get around to doing any of them if you keep putting them in a state of future indefinite. Chances are people may not stay to accompany you on your future plans. Fill up your moments now, and enjoy the gift that is called life!

4. I would give anything to be a child again. The life with parents in a protected shelter is by all means better than being in a big, bad world all alone. If there was one thing I could wish not to change about me ever, it would be that my heart never loses the innocence of a child. I don't want to go back to God as just another changed, manipulative human. I want to return to Him just the way He sent me so I can go up to Him and tell Him I took great care of the heart He gave me. [Finding me weird, eh?]

3. Letters are fun. Postcards are exciting. Emails and ecards take the emotion element out of the message. Handwritten letters never lose charm. As a kid I always fanticized about having a pen pal that I'd never meet, rather know well through words and handwriting alone.

2. You grow up when you learn to let go you realize you can't have things forever. At some point you need to let go. Holding on either makes it harder or uglier. Better leave things when they're still good and leave a pleasant memory. Learn from the people you meet in life, I guess that's the best way you can keep their memory alive.

1. And lastly [I understand you all need a break from my regular gayaan hehe!], don't give up on dreams. Many of us give up on our childhood dreams just because we fear we will hurt the people who love us by choosing our dreams over them. We need to understand the fact that the happiness of our loved ones lies with ours. Love is never something that holds you down to confinement into anything. Love is the force, the emotion, the feeling that sets us free and makes us everything we can ever be. We are what we dreamed all our lives to be. You can't just run away from something that defines you. Own your dream and make them happen :)

You know what? I know you know this. :D I love you!!! :)

Awesome post will be an understatement. :)

This yr has been a realization yr for me,from the start till today, I am realizing things. Its such a relief, you know. Once you know why what and how things happened or are happening.

The very first point has been a BIG realization and then the second - Girls who are "madly" in love need to know it!

Thank you so much for your dedication, Mehreen. :) Congratulations and may this blog create this same feeling of warmth in you, always.

Hugs.

Mehreen,

Congratulations on reaching 100 posts and that too in such a short time. If I reach 50 in a year I will be more than happy.

I am so moved by what you said about me. It makes me feel even more responsible now.

And last but not the least, each of these 10 points give so much of GYAAN if understood properly. It is a fact that there may be lots of people to help you but it is only you and YOU alone who is the one who can help yourself. Without your own willingness no one can do any good for you.

Take care
